The following new features and enhancements are available for the May '18 release:
Compensation Features
Core Features
Feature Name | Automatically Enabled? | Description |
---|---|---|
Employee API | Enable through Edge Marketplace | With the May '18 release, the Employee API is generally available, allowing administrators to manage employee records via User Administration, Data load Wizard, Reporting, and data feeds. |
End of IE10 Support | Yes |
Cornerstone is retiring support for Microsoft Internet Explorer 10. To keep up with browser security requirements and the latest software enhancements, support for Microsoft Internet Explorer 10 is discontinued with the May ‘18 Release. If you have not already done so, please reach out to your IT department to make plans to convert to one of the compatible browsers prior to the release. |
FTP Account Management - Password Reset | Yes | With this enhancement, when an administrator needs to update their FTP account password, they can do so via self-service in the Cornerstone system, with new permissions. This allows administrators to quickly and securely reset FTP account passwords on their own. |
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Readiness Program |
To request this functionality, submit a request to Global Customer Support. |
Cornerstone clients, particularly in the European Union, require the ability to anonymize/delete data associated with a user to ensure compliance with local and federal regulatory requirements, among which General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the most prominent change. This can also have an impact on US clients with users in Europe who are covered by the related regulations. |
Google Tag Manager Integration | Enable by request |
With this enhancement, organizations can use the Google Tag Manager integration to deploy code snippets at their own convenience, without the intervention of Cornerstone's development or services teams. The Google Tag Manager tool is separate from Google Analytics and can be used to set up code from any provider or source. Once the integration has been enabled in the Cornerstone system, administrators can add code snippets to system pages and track user behavior on those pages using the features available. |
Historical Upload Tool (HUT) Retirement | Yes | With the May '18 Release, Cornerstone no longer supports, and organizations no longer have access to, the Historical Upload Tool (HUT). HUT was a legacy tool used to upload Event/Session data and associate users to groups. Built prior to Data Load Wizard (DLW), the tool has seen declining/limited usage over time and is not enabled in newer portals. Organizations still using the HUT should contact their Client Success Manager to determine which solution will be most effective moving forward. |
Reporting 2.0 (Early Adopter) | No, self-enabled |
Reporting 2.0 is the new reporting tool for standard and custom reports. The new tool must be self-enabled and is intended to provide you with a simplistic and intuitive way to build and use reports. This is a powerful new engine that delivers a single application for creating reports. With the May '18 release, Recruiting and Performance are now supported along with the Learning, which was introduced as part of the February '18 release. In addition, scheduling and delivery are now available, as well as new sorting features and report sharing. |
Secure Page Timeout | Yes | For security purposes, if a user has been idle for over 60 minutes (no mouse clicks or key presses), a session timeout message will appear at the top of certain pages. |

|
Custom Connectors - Tools for Developers | Publicly Available through Edge |
With the May '18 release, integration testing functionality for validating integration testing code is available in Edge, which allows developers to test their integrations without needing access to a Cornerstone portal. These testing tools are publicly available in the API Explorer and do not require developers to have any permissions or login credentials. |
Edge Import - Employee Salary Load (Early Adopter) |
In Stage portals, this is enabled for organizations using the Compensation or Cornerstone HR functionality and also the Data Load Wizard (DLW). In Pilot and Production portals, submit a case with Global Customer Support. |
With this enhancement, the Edge Import Employee Salary Load is now available to early adopters. This tool provides organizations with the ability to load employee salary data even if it includes custom wage types. Employee Salary Management Modification History, when enabled in a portal, is also updated using the Edge Import load. Both of these functions are not possible when using the Data Load Wizard (DLW). Cornerstone HR clients are also able to report on updates to the Employee Salary Management Modification History using the User Audit Report - Detailed standard report. |
Employee API | Enable through Edge Marketplace | With the May '18 release, the Employee API is generally available, allowing administrators to manage employee records via User Administration, Data load Wizard, Reporting, and data feeds. |
Kronos OU Outbound Integration | Integration is available via the Edge Marketplace. | With this enhancement, the Kronos integration is enhanced to also sync organizational unit (OU) data from Cornerstone to Kronos. When an administrator adds or modifies an OU, changes are automatically sent to the corresponding Kronos entity. |
Planning Data in Reporting API | Enable in Edge | With this enhancement, programmatic access to Planning data through Reporting API will allow planners to extract specific, valuable data from their headcounts plans. |

Development plans are now easier to use, with reduced time and effort to build and manage plans. The responsive design accommodates users on any platform. Machine learning is now integrated into the functionality to provide recommended learning to users as they create their development plan. In addition, attachments can now be added to plans. |
Performance Suite Technology Update |
In addition to the functionality your users work with every day, Cornerstone is also making valuable changes behind the scenes and has started moving to a microservices architecture to bring our clients increased stability, flexibility, long-term scalability, and innovation. First announced in October 2017, Cornerstone gradually has started building, updating, and hosting applications and functionality in Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centers. As part of this ongoing process, in the May '18 Release, we plan to begin moving Development Plans Redesign of Performance to AWS. Other functionality for various modules will be migrated over time without additional AWS announcements. For more information, please see the announcement in the Success Center. |

In addition, the applicant's previously answered questions will populate in the new mobile-friendly workflow. |
Apply with LinkedIn 2.0 (with Apply Starters) | Enable in Edge |
Apply with LinkedIn (with Apply Starters) is a plugin that you can implement on your career site, enabling candidates to apply with their LinkedIn profiles in the application workflow. When applying with LinkedIn, a job seeker's profile information instantly populates the resume fields and gets sent directly to the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) upon submission. This makes for a fast and easy candidate experience. Recruiters can easily view an applicant's LinkedIn profile, getting access to valuable information that cannot always be found on a resume. |
