Hiding Legacy Skills on Bulk Edit and Refine Search
There are two systems of skills in CSX: (legacy) Skills, with very low adoption on content, and Cornerstone Skills Graph Skills (aka Capabilities), used throughout CSX.
Having both skills systems live in a single LMS content catalog is, understandably, confusing for customers. In November 2023, the (legacy) Skills Tab was removed from the Course Catalog user interface for all customers except those who "opted out" of the deprecation. However, we did not remove (legacy) Skills from the Bulk Edit and Refine Search pages. With the March 2024 release, we are removing (legacy) Skills from Bulk Edit and Refine Search for all customers except those who "opted out" of the (legacy) Skills Tab deprecation. The deprecation of (legacy) Skills from Refine Search affects Course Catalog and Global Search pages.
To access the (legacy) Skills tab in Bulk Edit, go to . Clear Enable Enhanced Search checkbox and select multiple Learning Objects. Click. To know more about Bulk Edit, See Batch Edit Course Catalog Items.
To access the (legacy) Skills tab in Refine Search, go to . Scroll down to Skills filter under Refine Search Options. To know more, See Search Preferences - Training.
How Does this Enhancement Benefit My Organization?
The (legacy) Skills field no longer appears on the Bulk Edit and Refine Search in Course Catalog and Global Search pages (except for customers who "opted out" of the (legacy) Skills Tab deprecation.)
Implementation
The deprecation of (legacy) Skills from Bulk Edit and Refine Search is by default. No activation is required. The customers who "opted out" of the (legacy) Skills Tab deprecation will continue to see (legacy) Skills on Bulk Edit and Refine Search pages.
