Core Features

Feature Name Automatically Enabled? Description
ADP Workforce Now (WFN) Single Sign-On (SSO) Enable via Edge

This enhancement was released with the March 8 patch.

With this enhancement, a new ADP Workforce Now Single Sign-On integration is now available from the Edge Marketplace. This enables organizations using ADP Workforce Now as their HCM to quickly purchase, configure, and enable single sign-on (SSO) from ADP WFN to Cornerstone.

Login Message Enhancement Yes With this enhancement, the login message can be displayed on any page that is set as the landing page, whether it is the Learner Home or the Welcome Page. This ensure that important login messages are not bypassed.
Online Help Color Refresh Yes

The color scheme in Online Help is being updated to the most current Cornerstone branding. Updating the colors creates a consistent look and feel across the Cornerstone platform.

These changes will not be visible during UAT.

Partner Access Administration Yes

This functionality will be released with the 17 May 2019 post-release patch.

With this enhancement, partner access to configure or administer a portal is now controlled directly by the client administrator through the new Partner Access Administration page. Partners who require administrator access to configure a portal now request the client to add them and will no longer be administered by Cornerstone.

Portal Security - Standardize Text Box HTML Validation Yes

This functionality is available for testing in Stage portals with the 17 May 2019 post-release patch. This functionality will not impact Production portals until the August '19 Release.

As part of Cornerstone’s ongoing commitment to client data security and a consistent user experience, we are standardizing the strength of security anywhere a text box is used. The standardized validation will first be implemented in the May '19 Release, in Stage environments only, to allow ample time for client testing prior to being implemented in production environments with the August '19 Release. Cornerstone strongly suggests clients use the three month period for testing in Stage to understand the impact this change may have, before it is pushed to production.

Reporting 2.0 (Early Adopter) Enhancements Yes, after enabling Reporting 2.0

The following features are available with the May '19 release:

  • Folders
  • Color Palettes for Charts
  • Summarized Reports
  • Additional Learning Fields
  • Excel Report Header Update
Retirement of Current Workday Integration in July 2019 N/A In 2017, Workday announced the deprecation of its Cornerstone Cloud Connect integration templates. Originally planned for March 2019, the retirement date has been extended to 13 July 2019.
RTDW Updates to Reporting API, RDW, and Data Exporter   Impacting only clients using Reporting API, Replicated Data Warehouse, and Data Exporter, the Real-Time Data Warehouse (RTDW) categories may be impacted, deprecated, or break applications, scripts, or functionalities that are based on earlier versions of RTDW objects.
Telerik Editor Library Upgrade Yes With this enhancement, the Telerik editor library is upgraded. This upgrade applies to the WYSIWYG HTML editor on many pages throughout the portal. Organizations should not see a change in the behavior of these tools after the upgrade to the more recent version, as this upgrade is in place to ensure support for the most recent Chrome Browsers.
Time Zone Enhancements Yes With the May '19 Release, Cornerstone has taken steps to ensure that portals accurately reflect time zones by making updates per the Microsoft Registry. This helps ensure the time users see is consistent whether it is in the portal or in an email notification.
Video Transcoding Service Migration in August '19 N/A In the August '19 Release, portals will start to be migrated from Akamai to a new video transcoding service. The new transcoding service, AWS MediaConvert, provides improved scalability, security, and features. Transcoding is a key process during video-file upload, which converts the uploaded video to be compatible with more browsers/video players and enable streaming during playback. This migration will be rolled out to portals starting with the August '19 release and will continue through the October '19 release. There is no action needed from clients and the migration will have no visible changes in user experience.
Workday Core Data Inbound Enhancements Yes, after enabling the integration via Edge

For organizations using Workday as their HCM and using the Workday Core Data Inbound integration, the following enhancements have been made to the integration:

  • Organizations have the option to override the pre-mapped configuration of first name, last name, and prefix. This is helpful for organizations that need to accommodate for family name prefix, such as organizations in Germany, Netherlands, and Belgium. This is also helpful for organizations using English and Chinese names. (Available as of March 8)
  • The OU ID and Manager ID are added to Supervisory OU name based on Workday’s settings. Organizations that leverage Workday's capability of using the OU Manager as the OU name (instead of populating the name field) could benefit from this enhancement. (Available as of March 8)
    • Format: <OU ID> <OU Name> (<Manager ID>)
    • Example: 10000419 Acme Marketing (21325717)
  • Organizations can choose whether future-dated new hires are pulled into Cornerstone on their hire date or one week prior to their hire date. (Available as of March 22)
  • Email logs are updated to be more descriptive and intuitive. (Available as of March 22)
  • Organizations have the option to sync organizational units (OUs) only, users only, or both OUs and Users. (Available with the 17 May 2019 post-release patch)
  • The frequency of the automatically scheduled delta sync is being increased. (Available in a post-release patch)

Cornerstone HR Features

Feature Name Automatically Enabled? Description
Employee Record Change Outbound Feed Installed from Edge Marketplace

This enhancement is not available during User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

A new Employee Record Change Outbound Feed is available in the Edge Marketplace. Employee record outbound feeds are now automated, so that once this feed is enabled, administrators can schedule a daily outbound feed of all changes made to the employee master data in the last 24 hours when Cornerstone is the system of record.

Forms User Type and Employment Status Fields Yes With this enhancement, when creating or copying a form, Active Status is added to the User Standard Fields section, and this includes the Active Status and Active Period options. There is also a new User Type and Employment Status section. Using these fields in forms allows organizations to initiate and complete processes such as terminations without needing to extend user record access to users in non-administrative roles in their organization. Because User Type and Employment Status fields are related, the form build page adds these fields to the form collectively; individual fields cannot be selectively added to the form. However, fields are visible in the form depending upon the value selected in User Type or Employment Status.

  • Enable easy mobile delivery of learning content

The Create Tool is not available during UAT.

  • The issue of transcript statuses populating incorrectly for materials or online courses as a result of the following scenario has been fixed: the material or online course is versioned and set as "Version Equivalent" to the prior version. After getting the new version in a Completed Equivalent status, the user re-requests or is re-assigned a new registration of the material or online course by a manager. With this enhancement, material and online course versioning behavior has been updated. For material and online course reversioning, when a user has a Completed Equivalent status for a training item, and that training is reversioned using the Replace option and set as a training equivalent for the new version, the user's status for the new version of the training will be Registered.

The following instructor data can be obfuscated using these new preferences:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Instructor reference ID
  • Email
Version Numbers Available in Curriculum Administration Structure Yes
