What's New for the 19 July 2019 Patch Release

The following is released along with the 19 July 2019 patch release:

Module Feature Description
Core Korean Language Pack Upgrade Cornerstone has recently completed a reversion of the Korean language pack.
Edge API Authentication: OAuth 2.0 - Client Credential Grant Flow With this enhancement, Cornerstone now supports OAuth 2.0 client credential and authorization code flows for its public APIs. OAuth 2.0 is an industry-standard authentication and authorization protocol for APIs. Using this protocol reduces the time and effort needed by external developers to integrate with the Cornerstone system.
Edge Learning on Workplace by Facebook Integration With this enhancement, the Learning on Workplace by Facebook integration is available in the Edge Marketplace, making it possible for organizations to allow their learners to view and access learning playlists via Workplace, as well as allow playlist creators to post and share their playlists on Workplace. The Learning on Workplace by Facebook integration allows organizations to leverage Workplace's community functionality to encourage consumption of learning playlists within the learning management system (LMS).
Learning CyberSource Integration Update to Support 3D Secure 2.1

On September 14, 2019, a new PSD2 SCA regulation will be enforced in EMEA for certain transactions. This new requirement requires enhancements to the current CyberSource integration and usage of the 3D Secure protocol.

With this enhancement, the CyberSource integration has been updated to use 3D Secure 2.1 for credit card purchases. This new version provides the following benefits:

  • Provides control over when to invoke traditional 3-D Secure and helps to avoid unnecessary checkout disruption
  • Liability is shifted to the card issuer and potentially lowers interchange costs
  • Increases conversion rates by reducing checkout abandonment for those using traditional 3-D Secure
  • Helps reduce the number of orders sent for manual review
Learning Cornerstone Learn - Custom Navigation Link

With this enhancement, administrators can add a custom link to the Cornerstone Learn app so app users can access complementary information during their app experience. Some examples of potential uses of this custom link include:

  • Linking to an internal support site so users can log issues
  • Linking to a third-party online help site for general information about the app
  • Linking to a responsive page in the Cornerstone system to provide access to additional features

With the June 28 patch, custom links configured via Mobile Preferences were only applied to the iOS version of the Cornerstone Learn app.

With the July 19 patch, custom links configured via Mobile Preferences will also apply to the Android version of the Cornerstone Learn app.

Learning Cornerstone Learn - Offline Learning With this enhancement, administrators can make it possible for users to download training items from the Cornerstone Learn application and complete those training items when an internet connection is not available.
