Self Registration Redesign (Open Beta)

Prior to this enhancement, the Extended Enterprise users encountered difficulties with the outdated user interface during the self-registration process, leading to a suboptimal user experience.

With this enhancement, the self-registration process has been updated to reflect a more modern design, with the registration steps simpler and more intuitive. The key features include a new Self-Registration form, modern user interface, and user experience.

The new Self- Registration experience requires activation via Feature Activation Preferences. To do this, go to ADMIN > TOOLS > LEARNING > LEARNING PREFERENCES > FEATURE ACTIVATION PREFERENCES. In the Activate New Self Registration Experience section, click ACTIVATE.

How Does this Enhancement Benefit My Organization?

  • The upgraded system simplifies registration, saves time, and improves user satisfaction and engagement.
  • It provides users a user-friendly interface, enhanced navigation, and an improved experience when setting up user records.

Considerations

  • Only the No-Approval process is considered for Open Beta. Customers are requested to create new Self Registration Groups for Open Beta in Stage with the fields that are supported.
  • Below Standard fields are only supported on the form with “Automatically assign” configuration for OUs:
    • User ID
    • Username
    • Email
  • As of now, the multi-step form is not within the scope of Open Beta.
  • If any mandatory fields in the portal that are not part of the supported fields for Open Beta are used in testing, then User records will not be created, e.g., Position OU.
  • Custom Fields are currently out of the scope of Open Beta and will be considered in the November 2024 release.
  • In the current scope, the instruction text on the Self-Registration Page is non-configurable. For November 2024, this will be further improved to support Custom Text and Logo/ Banner for Learners and Admins, and this is done to make the pages responsive to any resolution (HTML support will be deprecated with the March 2025 release General Availability.
  • ‘Already a User’ login is currently out of the scope of open beta and will be considered in the November 2024 release.
  • Deprecation of old Self-Registration flow is planned for the March 2025 release.
