Learning Assignment Tool - Additional Edit Settings

Prior to this enhancement, the administrators could edit Learning Assignments after submission and change the training title and due dates. However, to modify other settings, such as the Learning Assignment Tool (LAT) description or email settings, they had to deactivate the existing assignment and create a new one.

With this enhancement, administrators now have additional editing options without the need for deactivation and re-submission. The new editing capabilities include:

  • Modifying the description - Administrators can now edit the description of both standard and dynamic Learning Assignments.
  • Modifying comments - Administrators can also make changes to the comments section of dynamic Learning Assignments.
  • Modifying email settings - The email settings that pertain to dynamic Learning Assignments are now editable by administrators.
  • Audits and Modification History - The changes are captured as part of Audits and Modification History.

Note: All modifications will take effect starting from the next LAT processing cycle.

This functionality is automatically enabled for all organizations using the Learning module.

Permissions

The following new permission applies to this functionality:

Assignment Tool - Edit Email Settings

Grants the administrator the ability to edit email settings of dynamic learning assignments.

This permission can be constrained by User’s OU, Standard, and custom OUs. This is an administrator permission.

The following existing permissions apply to this functionality:

Assignment Tool - Dynamic Reassignment Grants ability to enable/disable Dynamic Re-assignment for an assignment after submission. When Dynamic Re-assignment is enabled, users that meet the User Criteria again (after previously being dynamically removed) are re-assigned. This permission is dependent on the Assignment - Standard, Dynamic - Standard and Dynamic, and Dynamic Assignment - Standard and Dynamic - Recurrence permissions. This permission cannot be constrained. This is an administrator permission. Learning - Administration
Assignment Tool - Edit Assignment Title and Description

This permission grants the administrator the ability to edit the title of both standard and dynamic learning assignments via the Assignment Summary page for the assignment. This permission can be constrained by the following:

  • OUs​
  • User’s OUs​

Assignment Tool Preferences Grants access to Assignment Tool Preferences where an administrator can activate the new Assignment Tool and configure the processing options and settings to create Learning Assignments. This permission cannot be constrained. This is an administrator permission. Learning - Administration
Assignment Tool - Standard and Dynamic

Grants ability to create Standard (one-time) and Dynamic (continuous) Learning Assignments to directly assign training to users. This permission can be constrained by OU, Provider, Training Item, Training Type, User, User Self and Subordinates, and User's OU. If this permission is constrained by Location, Provider, Training Type, or Training Item, then they can only assign training within the constraints. If this permission is constrained by OU, User, User Self and Subordinates, or User's OU, then they can only assign to and view assignments created by users within the constraints. This is an administrator permission.

Security Role

Upon release, the new permission is automatically granted to the default System Administrator role. Administrators must grant this permission with the appropriate constraints to other roles, if necessary.
