Edge Import Learning Loads - Usability Enhancements

With this release, updates have been made to existing data loads to support more customer use cases and recent enhancements.

Online Content (OLCO) Transcript - Support Failed Status

The Online Content (OLCO) Transcript load now supports the Failed transcript status if your organization has activated the Failed status for Online Classes. Customers must contact Global Customer Support to enable the Failed status for OLCO.

Transcript statuses can be changed from the following statuses to Failed:

  • Approved
  • Registered
  • In Progress
  • Approved/Past Due
  • Registered/Past Due
  • In Progress/Past Due

Transcript statuses can be changed from Failed to Completed.

When the Transcript Status is imported as Failed, the Passed field value in Reporting 2.0 is "No." When the Transcript Status is imported as Completed, the Passed field value in Reporting 2.0 is "Yes."

ILT Loads - Instructor Field Enhancements

The following enhancements are made to the ILT Instructor load:

  • The Instructor ID field now accepts Username values for internal instructors and GUID for external or internal instructors created in the CSX system.
  • The Home Location field is optional. It is only required when creating a new instructor.
  • The load can be used to create the same internal instructor for multiple providers in the same file. Unique records are a combination of Instructor ID and Provider.

The Preferred Instructor ID field in the ILT Events load now accepts Username and GUID.

The Part Instructor ID field in the ILT Session and ILT Session Parts loads now accepts Username and GUID.

ILT Sessions Load - Vendor/Provider Field Enhancement

In the ILT Sessions load, the Vendor/Provider field is enhanced to allow for updating the vendor for existing sessions. The Vendor/Provider field can now be updated for an existing session, and the Part Instructor must belong to the new Vendor/Provider. The Vendor/Provider field description in the template guide is updated to reflect this change.

Previously, organizations had to request a work order to update the Vendor/Provider for existing sessions.

ILT Loads - How is the Session ID Provided?

In the ILT Sessions and ILT Session Parts loads, the "How is the Session ID provided?" question contains a new "Session Learning Object ID" option.

In the ILT Transcript load, the "How is the Session ID provided?" question contains a new "Session Locator Number" option.

Transcript Loads - Comments Field is Conditionally Required

For the following Transcript loads, the Comments field is now only required when creating a load configuration in which the Due Date field is mapped:

  • Curriculum Transcript
  • Event Transcript Update
  • Material Transcript
  • Online Content (OLCO) Transcript
  • Online Course Transcript
  • Test Transcript
  • Video Transcript

For existing saved configurations, when the Due Date field is mapped and the Comments field is not mapped, the configurations continue to function as previously.

Transcript Loads - Support Auto-resolution

Edge Import supports automatic resolution for a transcript load and its corresponding transcript custom field loads in a feed setting to be able to import the transcript and its custom fields in a single feed run.

For example, if an organization has a Material Transcript and Material Transcript Custom Field feed scheduled to run at 5 PM, the feed automatically resolves the data dependency between both files. The feed creates new transcript records and updates custom fields in the same feed run.

This functionality is added for the following load-type pairs:

  • Curriculum Transcript and Curriculum Transcript Custom Fields
  • ILT Transcript and Session Transcript Custom Fields
  • Material Transcript and Material Transcript Custom Fields
  • Online Content (OLCO) Transcript and Online Content (OLCO) Transcript Custom Fields
  • Online Course Transcript and Online Course Transcript Custom Fields
  • Test Transcript and Test Transcript Custom Fields
  • Video Transcript and Video Transcript Custom Fields

Format Enhancement - Multiple Field Values

Most fields that accept multiple values can now separate values by a semicolon or a comma. This impacts fields such as Available Language, Keywords, and Subject IDs. Template guides are updated for the impacted fields.

This impacts the following load types:

  • Curriculum
  • ILT Event
  • Material
  • Online Content (OLCO) Metadata
  • Online Course Metadata
  • Test
  • Video

Implementation

This functionality is automatically enabled for existing Edge Import customers. The Template Guides in Edge Import will be updated to reflect this enhancement.
