QUICK START GUIDE - Standard Reports

  • Checklists are aids that help you review configuration settings and follow best practices prior to testing. Be sure to test the functionality fully in your Pilot portal before releasing to end users.
  • The Standard Reports Quick Start Guide covers the commons steps required to generate a variety of Standard Reports.

PERMISSIONS REQUIRED AND PAGE ACCESS

ASSIGN PERMISSION Each Standard Report has at least one specific Permission associated with it. Refer to Online Help > Reporting > Standard Reports, Select a Report category and then a Report for Permission details.
GO TO Reports > Standard Reports > Report Category > Report

  • Standard Reports are bucketed into Categories
  • Depending on products purchased and your portal’s configuration, the following categories will be available: Track Employees, ILT, Training, Billing, Performance, Succession, System, Compensation, Connect, Volunteer Management, and Recruitment.
  • A full list of standard reports along with their description is available in Help.
  1. Report
  • Choose a Report from the options listed

 

  1. Configure Report options
  1. Date Criteria
  • Select from the drop-down provided, e.g.: This Week, Last Week, This Year, Last Year, etc., or select/enter From and To dates using the fields provided to constrain the date range for your report output.
  • If you select a Date Criteria / Filter from the drop-down, the To and From dates will autofill.
  • You may also choose From and To dates using the calendar pop-up provided in those fields
  1. User Criteria
  • Select from the drop-down provided, e.g., Division, Position, Grade, etc.
  • You can use any standard or custom Organizational Unit. You can select multiple criteria as needed. Carefully consider parent/child relationships when selecting. Deselect “Include Subordinates” as needed.
  1. Advanced Criteria
  • Select using the drop-downs, check boxes and radio buttons provided
  • Options will vary depending on which Standard Report is being configured but may include things like: Training Type, User Status, Recurrence, etc.
  • Some Standard Reports will have additional sorting and filtering options in this section that you may be able to take advantage of to refine your report prior to output, e.g., Sort/Filter/Group by User Status, Training, User Custom Field, Training Custom Field, etc.
  1. Currency Options
  • Choose from the options provided
  • This section only appear is certain reports and typically includes options to convert between or filter by international currencies and to choose which conversion rate to use (e.g., Client, Cornerstone).
  1. Output/ Process Report
  • Select Printable Version or Export to Excel from the options provided
  • These options appear for synchronous reports, meaning they run immediately, while the administrator waits.
  • When Printable Version is selected the report displays opens in a new browser window.
  • Enter a Report Title if a field is provided.
  • Click the Process Report link
  • These options appear for asynchronous reports which process in the background, allowing the administrator to move on to other areas of the system and view the report later.

  1. Processed Reports
  • After allowing sufficient time for processing, asynchronous reports may be accessed in this section of the relevant Standard Report page by selecting them from the list.
  • Processed reports are listed in chronological order and include: Report Name, Create Date, Last Run, and Output Options.

 

BEST PRACTICES FOR POST CONFIGURATION

GO TO Reports > Standard Reports > Report Category > Report > Processed Reports
ENABLE SETTING Security Roles and permissions determine which standard reports are available to users. Provide access only to those reports that provide value to your organization. A list of recommended reports by role and product is available in Help.
