My Team - Create Goals

There are two ways to create a goal from the My Team module. The first way is done using the ID card options and can be used to create a goal for yourself, your team, or one of your direct reports. The second way is used to assign a goal to one of your direct reports and is done using the Actions drop-down list from the Goals section of the Performance tab within the My Team module.

Grants ability for user to create goals for self, direct reports, and indirect reports only. Any constraint on this permission is operating as an "AND" function. This permission can be constrained by Employee Relationship, OU, User's OU, and User Self and Subordinates. This is an end user permission.

 Performance
MyTeam Goals

Grants ability for manager (or others depending on constraints) to view, edit and manage progress of Goals for their direct and indirect reports via MyTeam and Talent Profile. This permission can be constrained by OU, User's OU, User's Direct Reports, User, Employee Relationships, and User Self and Subordinates. The permission constraints determine for which users the Goals tab is available when viewing a user in My Team.

Note: By design, for any My Team permission that is included in the Manager default security role, all of the manager's direct and indirect reports are included in the constraints, even if they are not selected in the permission constraints for the role.

Note: If the user's permission is also constrained by User Self and Subordinates, then this overrides the User's Direct Reports constraint.

Note: If this permission is constrained by Employee Relationships, assigned co-planners can create, view, and approve goals.

Performance

Creating a Goal for Yourself, Your Team, or a Direct Report

At any screen within the My Team module, you will see your ID card to the left along with the ID card of your direct reports. If you move your mouse over the black arrow on your ID card, a list of options will appear to the right.

  1. To create a goal for yourself, your team, or a direct report, click the My Team tab.
  2. On your ID card to the left, move your mouse over the black arrow.

  1. From the list of options that appears to the right, select Create Goal. You are taken to the Create Goal - Align page, where you can begin the goal creation process. At the end of the process, you can assign the goal to yourself, your team, or a direct report.

Creating a Goal for a Direct Report

When viewing your team's goals within the My Team module, you can create a goal that will be assigned to one of your direct reports. The goal that you create and assign to your direct reports will appear in their goals.

  1. To create a goal for one of your direct reports, click the My Team tab.
  2. On the left, you will see your ID card as well as the ID cards of your direct reports. Click the ID card of the direct report for which you are creating a goal.
  3. In the module to the right, select the Performance tab and then click the Goals sub link.
  4. An Actions drop-down list displays along with a list of the direct report's existing goals if they have any. Click the drop-down list and select Create Goal.

You are taken to the Create Goal - Align page where you can begin the goal creation process. When you reach the third step, where you assign the goal, the direct report you chose will already be selected. Only the manager's direct reports are pre-selected. To create a goal for a non-direct report team member, you must select them manually.
