Load Compensation Data - Step 2 - Select Type

In 2019, Cornerstone will remove the option to load Compensation data via the Data Load Wizard (DLW). The exact timing of this is yet to be determined but will be announced in advance to give clients time to plan.

  • To load Compensation data, clients will need to use the new Edge Import Employee Salary Load tool which was made available in the August '18 Release to clients with Compensation or Cornerstone HR and Data Load Wizard (DLW).

To begin loading compensation data, you must first select the type of data you are loading. This ensures that the data is loaded into the correct location.

The available types are:

  • Employee Salary - This data type enables administrators to load information about the user's salary, wage type, and effective date. Existing salary data can be updated and new salary data can be created via the Data Load Wizard. Any updates to existing salary data are tracked in the employee salary history. The Last Updated value is recorded as the date on which the data was loaded. The Last Updated By value is recorded as the administrator who performed the data load.
    • Each unique combination of User ID and Effective Date creates a record. If a combination of User ID and Effective ID is loaded that matches an existing combination, then the data that is loaded overwrites the existing data. Use cases are provided on the Upload topic. See Load Compensation Data - Step 3 - Upload.
  • Individual Targets - This data type enables administrators to load individual user targets such as Bonus, ISO, LTI, NQO, RSA, and custom bonus types that have been configured in the portal. Existing individual target data can be updated and new individual target data can be created via the Data Load Wizard.
    • Each unique combination of User ID, Target Type, Target Name, and Target Date creates a record. If a combination of User ID, Target Type, Target Name, and Target Date is loaded that matches an existing combination, then the data that is loaded overwrites the existing data. Use cases are provided on the Upload topic. See Load Compensation Data - Step 3 - Upload.
  • Salary Structure - This data type enables administrators to load salary ranges that are set for primary and secondary OUs. Minimum and maximum ranges can be set. Also, administrators can set the wage type. Existing salary structure data can be updated and new salary structure data can be created via the Data Load Wizard. Any updates to existing salary structure data are tracked in the Modification History section on the Salary Structure administration page. The Modified By value is recorded as the administrator who performed the data load. The Last Updated value is recorded as the date on which the data was loaded.
    • When a Secondary OU is provided, each unique combination of Primary OU, Secondary OU, and Wage Type creates a record. If a combination of Primary OU, Secondary OU, and Wage Type is loaded that matches an existing combination, then the data that is loaded overwrites the existing data. Use cases are provided on the Upload topic. See Load Compensation Data - Step 3 - Upload.
    • When a Secondary OU is not provided, each unique combination of Primary OU and Wage Type creates a record. If a combination of Primary OU and Wage Type is loaded that matches an existing combination, then the data that is loaded overwrites the existing data. Use cases are provided on the Upload topic. See Load Compensation Data - Step 3 - Upload.

After selecting the appropriate data type, click Next to proceed to the Upload step. See Load Compensation Data - Step 3 - Upload.
