When configuring the compensation data feed, the first step is to determine the data that will be included in the data feed. After determining what data fields will be included in the data feed, prepare a sample file for each type of data that will be loaded. For example, if you plan to include an Employee Salary data file and a Salary Structure data file in the compensation feed, then prepare a sample file for each data file.
Always include data headers in data files for the compensation data feed.
The sample files will be used to create data mapping templates. The following is important when creating the sample files:
- Sample files must have the same columns and field names as the files you plan to use in your data feed.
- Sample files should be the same file type and use the same delimiter as the files you plan to use in your data feed.
- Sample files should include data headers in order to assist in the configuration and troubleshooting processes.
