Search Language Enhancements - March 2023

This enhancement improves search results and character recognition by utilizing new, specific analyzers for Korean, Japanese, and Chinese when the display language is set accordingly. In cases where special characters are used, search results are improved.

It may take up to 25 days for the update in functionality to be present in stage portals and up to 45 days for production portals.

How Does this Enhancement Benefit My Organization?

All users utilizing Enhanced Search and have a display language set to Korean, Japanese or Chinese will receive more accurate search results.

The enhancements presented in this release are most noticeable in two scenarios.

  1. When searching while the display language is Korean, Japanese, or Chinese.
  2. When searching using certain special characters, such as a dash ‘-’ or parenthesis ‘()’.

No. These enhancements are available in places where Enhanced Search is used and enabled within CSX Learning. Potential places for Enhanced Search to be used in your portal are: Learning Search Page, Express Class Search, Playlists, Global Search (Training), Course Catalog Search, and ILT: Manage Events and Sessions. Please check the administrative preferences in your portal to determine if you have Enhanced Search enabled in these pages, as some pages listed are configurable.

Search results may change slightly with this enhancement. To obtain better results when special characters are used, an upgraded analyzer has been implemented to interpret and process search queries.
