Edge Import - Performance Load Enhancements (User Goals Load)

The following enhancements to User Goals loads are included with the November ’22 Release:

  • Goal Status and Progress updates reflect current status and progress instead of default portal values.
  • Goals can be imported in Locked status. Note: Edge Import displays a warning if locked goals are present in the load when goal locking is not configured in the portal.
  • Perspective and Category are ID-based instead of text-based, reducing typos.
  • Goal Weight is display per precision value set in the portal instead of being rounded to the nearest whole digit.

Goal Status and Progress

Prior to this enhancement, goals loaded via Edge Import would not contribute to a user's overall goal progress and status.

With this enhancement, goals loaded via Edge Import accurately impact a user's status and progress. The Goal Status is dependent on the portal configuration.

Goal Lock

Prior to this enhancement, goals loaded via Edge Import could not be loaded in Locked status.

With this enhancement, goals can be loaded in a Locked or Unlocked status via a new Lock Goals setting in the template guide. However, a warning is displayed if goals are loaded in a Locked status and goal locking is not enabled for the portal.

Following the November ’22 Release, customers must create a new configuration so that the newly added field header is included. Please refer to the template guide for acceptable values for this field.

Note: When a goal is loaded in the Locked status, users cannot edit this goal.

Note: Edge Import does not currently support unlocking, editing, or deleting goals.

Note: The ability to lock goals and load goals in the Locked status is controlled by a backend setting. To enable this functionality, contact Global Customer Support.

Perspective and Category

Prior to this enhancement, administrators could only load a text value for the Perspective and Category fields. This created issues when an incorrect text value was entered accidentally.

With this enhancement, administrators must load an ID value for the Perspective and Category fields. By entering ID values for these fields, this reduces the possibility of text-based errors. Organizations must now provide Perspectives and Categories using their ID values when creating goals via Edge Import. Organizations can no longer provide text values for these fields.

Following the November ’22 Release, customers must create a new configuration so that the newly added field headers are included. Please refer to the template guide for acceptable values for these fields.

Note: Perspective and Category values must be configured in the portal prior to loading goal data.

Goal Weight Precision

Prior to this enhancement, goals loaded via Edge Import would round the goal weight to the nearest whole digit.

With this enhancement, goal weight for goals loaded via Edge Import uses the precision value configured for the portal.

Considerations

Edge Import does not currently support unlocking, modifying, or deleting goals.

Edge Import does not currently support loading Task and Target values for goals.

Implementation

This functionality is automatically enabled for all organizations using Edge Import. The template guide in Edge Import will be updated to reflect this enhancement.

This functionality is not available at the start of UAT.
