Session Location on Learning Details Flyout

Prior to this enhancement, when the address for a session was part of a location hierarchy, the address that displayed on the Session Details flyout was always the address of the top node in the location hierarchy. For example, if the session location was part of the EMEA > France > Paris hierarchy, the address provided for the EMEA location was the address that displayed on the Session Details flyout, instead of the address provided for the Paris location.

With this enhancement, when the address for a session is part of a location hierarchy, learners still see the location hierarchy, but they will now see the address of the session's actual location on the Session Details flyout instead of the address of the top node in the location hierarchy. For example, if the session location is part of the EMEA > France > Paris hierarchy, the address that displays to the learner is the Paris location address.

Considerations

  • This enhancement only impacts the location address field of the Session Details flyout. Other areas of the portal, including reporting, are not impacted by this enhancement since they already display the address of the session location.

  • When the City field is empty for the location, the system displays the address of the closest parent location containing a city. When the location and parents do not contain a city, the address is left blank.
  • The Location type (region, city, building, room) has no impact on the logic of this enhancement.

Implementation

This functionality is automatically enabled for all portals using the Learning module.
