vILT Connector (Early Adopter) Enhancements

Prior to this enhancement:

  • When adding a new vILT integration, the integration ID was empty by default and administrators were prompted to enter a unique ID.
  • When adding a new vILT integration or when accessing the Edge Integration Center to manage an existing vILT integration, a Delete icon was available. Clicking this icon deleted the vILT integration record from the Edge system and also inactivated the vILT provider in the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • When adding a new vILT integration, the integration was made inactive by default.

With this enhancement:

  • When adding a new vILT integration, the integration ID will be automatically generated and no action will be required from the administrator to populate this information.
  • When adding a new vILT integration or when accessing the Edge Integration Center to manage an existing vILT integration, the Delete icon is no longer available. If an organization needs to remove an existing vILT integration that has already been configured, the best practice is to inactivate the vILT integration. This inactivates the vILT provider in the Learning Management System without resulting in a loss of the vILT integration data in the database.

Considerations

  • These enhancements do not apply to historic vILT integrations that were built previously, as they rely on a different technology.
  • An Uninstall and Remove Integration button is located at the top of the vILT Connector configuration page in the Edge Integration Center. The functionality of this button is separate from the Delete icon that has been removed. The Uninstall and Remove Integration button affects all the vILT integrations already configured on the vILT Connector. The Delete icon only affected individual integrations configured on the vILT Connector.

Implementation

This functionality is automatically enabled by default.

Permissions

The following existing permissions apply to this functionality:
