The following enhancements to the skill feedback experience are included with the July '21 Release:
- Display the person being rated throughout the feedback experience
- Submit button now available on all feedback pages (Submit, Next, Previous always visible at bottom of page)
- Comment preview in Skill Details (when logged in user does not have any previous ratings)
- Optimized Comment View in Feedback History
- "Rating" changed to "Feedback" on some pages to more accurately describe the multiple response formats that are supported.
Display Person Being Rated
When a person is providing ratings in response to a feedback request, the name and avatar for the person who is being rated is now displayed in the upper-left corner of the page. This helps to clearly indicate the user for whom the reviewer is providing ratings. Previously, this displayed the rating template name.
Submit Button on All Pages
When giving feedback on multiple skills, the Submit button is now always available on every page of the feedback task. Previously, the Submit button was only available on the final page of the task. This enhancement enables reviewers to exit and submit the task at any time before reaching the end of the skills list.
In addition, when providing feedback, all action buttons are now always visible at the bottom of the page. Previously, the reviewer may have had to scroll to the bottom of the page to view the buttons.
Comment Preview in Skill Details
With this release, in situations where the organization is not using scale-based ratings or the target user has not received any ratings, then the Skill Details flyout now displays a preview of any feedback comments provided for this skill.
Optimized Comment View in Feedback History
With this release, the Comment View in the Feedback History pop-up is optimized to improve the viewing experience for comments.
"Rating" Changed to "Feedback"
With this release, Cornerstone now supports multiple formats for users to give each other feedback about their skills (Ratings, Comments, Endorsements), so "Rating" is changed to "Feedback" in the following areas to more accurately describe the multiple response formats:
- Rating Templates is renamed to Feedback Templates ( )
- My Rating Requests is renamed to My Feedback Requests ( )
- When providing feedback, the message at the end of the process is updated from "Your rating is saved" to "Your feedback is saved."
How Does this Enhancement Benefit My Organization?
Giving and receiving feedback on skills should be intuitive and easy to encourage frequent and timely feedback between colleagues. These customer-driven enhancements improve the usability of skill feedback, making it clearer who you are giving feedback to and how you can submit partial feedback without having to respond for every skill.
This functionality is automatically enabled for all organizations.
The following existing permissions apply to this functionality:

Grants ability to manage feedback templates for capabilities. This permission cannot be constrained. This is an administrator permission.
This permission only works when used in conjunction with the User Rating permission.
|User Ratings||For end users, this permission grants ability to perform ratings and view ratings. For administrators, this permission is required along with the specific user ratings administration permissions to edit rating scales or templates. This permission cannot be constrained.||Core Administration|
