With this enhancement, the Delivery panel is renamed Automation Settings and is updated to include additional features and user experience changes. These updates are designed to reduce the manual effort when managing reporting data.
The ability to send and share via email and deliver to FTP is still available, and a new Queue this report on a schedule has been added.
To access Reporting 2.0, go to
In addition to general permissions for creating and viewing reports in Reporting 2.0, users also need the following permission to deliver reports:
|PERMISSION NAME||PERMISSION DESCRIPTION||CATEGORY|
|Reporting - FTP Delivery||
Grants ability to schedule delivery of Reporting 2.0 reports to an FTP directory. This permission cannot be constrained.
This permission is used in conjunction with the view permission for Reporting 2.0 and can also be used in conjunction with the various product, section, and field level permissions. Users must have permission to view Reporting 2.0 in order to have access to a report that is delivered to them. If they do not have view access, then the Reporting 2.0 navigation sublink will not display for them.
Users who have permission to manage Reporting 2.0 can edit a report that is delivered to them. They can also copy the delivered report.
Queue this report on a schedule
This is a new option in Reporting 2.0. When this option is toggled on, users can queue reports on a schedule on behalf of shared users. Shared users are then able to download the queued report.
To set the report schedule, use the options in the Schedule Parameters section to set the time, date, and frequency on which you want the report to run.
If the report has been published to dashboards, the widgets that are using this report will also be refreshed automatically. Note: The snapshot is available by clicking the queue report or download icon for a report on the Reporting 2.0 homepage.
Note: Effective 2 February 2021, queued reports that are generated through scheduling will go back to containing up to 200,000 rows. This is a change from the enhancement for the February '21 release that would allow queued reports generated through scheduling to contain up to 1,000,000 rows.
Note: Reports that are queued manually will continue to have a limit of 1,000,000 rows.
Deliver to Email
As with existing functionality for Reporting 2.0, reports can be shared and delivered via email. With this enhancement, the email delivery feature is now available by toggling on the Deliver to Email option in Automation Settings.
To set the delivery schedule, use the options in the Schedule Parameters section to set the time, date, and frequency of the report schedule.
Use the Email Recipients section at the bottom of the Automation Settings panel to select to email the report to yourself and/or shared users.
When sharing a report, the following new automation option is available in the Select Users flyout:
- Include in Automation - When this option is checked, automation for report queuing will run on behalf of up to 20 shared users, which means the shared users will automatically receive a refreshed report whenever the report is scheduled to run. This option is not available for organizational units (OU) or for users who are subordinates of the shared user. This option only functions if the Queue this report on a schedule option is toggled on in the Automation Settings panel.
Deliver to FTP
As with existing functionality for Reporting 2.0, reports can be delivered to an FTP server. With this enhancement, the FTP delivery feature is now available by toggling on the Deliver to FTP option in Automation Settings.
When the Deliver to FTP option is on, a Report Output Format section appears at the bottom of the Automation Settings panel. As with existing functionality, select the output format in the drop-down and choose whether to check the Send as a Zip file option. There are no functionality changes to FTP delivery.
